FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TAMPA, Fla., May 21, 2026 –TMG Global has successfully completed a distribution center network infrastructure switch refresh for a leading athletic apparel and retail brand, delivering a project scoped across two maintenance phases in a single weekend – ahead of schedule and with a reduced team.
Project Overview
The engagement called for the replacement and installation of network switches across approximately 25 IDF/MDF locations within a large distribution center environment. The scope included switch replacement, patching, IDF clean-up, organized grouping of patch panels, proper rack-unit spacing for stacked switches, and end-to-end labeling of uplink cables from IDF to core. Because the majority of the IDFs were mounted well above ground level, the work required lift equipment and technicians operating at heights of 20 to 30 feet to complete the switch migrations.
Execution Under Pressure
What makes this project stand out is how it was delivered. Originally scoped for two separate maintenance phases and a team of six, the project was delivered by a streamlined crew of four. The team consolidated both phases into a single weekend, working extended overnight shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to complete all migrations within the customer’s maintenance windows. The team executed switch replacements and migrations across all IDF locations, performed thorough clean-up of long-neglected network closets, and captured detailed photo documentation throughout. The result was a faster-than-planned delivery that did not compromise on quality or precision.
Recognized by the Client and Partner
The work drew strong positive feedback from both the end client and the partner organization, with particular praise for the quality of the photo documentation and the professionalism of the on-site execution. Disciplined upfront project planning was a key factor in keeping the field team aligned and successful under demanding conditions.
A Word from the Project Manager
“I could not be prouder of what this team pulled off,” said Alyssa Ullven, Project Manager at TMG Global. “We were scoped for six people across two phases, and we delivered it with four – so the team made the call to consolidate everything into a single weekend and execute it flawlessly, working overnight from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., often 20 to 30 feet in the air. The feedback from both the client and our partner said it all. This was top-tier project planning meeting a field team that simply refused to let anything slow them down. This is exactly who we are.”
