The project, completed in an impressive five-month timeline as per schedule, involved a meticulous “Big Bang” migration approach for 5 hospitals and 81 off-sites in a single weekend. The TMG Global team is honored to be a part of this project. The united direction and goal are a great example of teamwork among several companies and IT departments. In preparation for this massive undertaking, TMG Global accomplished the following key milestones:
- Set up temporary “Core Networks” at each hospital for parallel network deployment until the final hardware was delivered and installed.
- Managed 5 low voltage teams, each stationed in a hospital, working simultaneously to ensure a seamless transition.
- Oversaw the deployment of Wireless Access Points in all locations, including hospitals and offsites.
- Conducted fiber upgrades in hospitals where necessary to enhance network capabilities.
- Project-managed and installed new switches to expand the wireless footprint and accommodate increased end-user technology.
- Assisted in the circuit delivery process, including extensions and test & turn-ups for offsite locations.
- Managed and installed new low voltage connections for critical healthcare devices in each hospital and selected offsites.
- Handled the project management and installation of switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN appliances in varying configurations across 81 sites.
- Project-managed the factory reset of all VoIP phones in hospitals and offsites.
- Facilitated hardware and circuit extensions for net new offsite locations.
- Led “pilot migrations” and rollbacks for different site types to ensure a smooth transition.
The migration weekend itself involved the dedicated efforts of 25 TMG resources, including Program Managers, Senior Project Managers, Coordinators, Technical Delivery Leads, and Technical Delivery Associates. Working in a structured playbook and cadence over 72 hours, the team ensured the successful completion of the migration. Following Day 1 support, TMG continued to provide Day 2 support, collaborating with other teams to ensure a seamless transition.
